Students create a ten-room museum based on the new technology and events of the Industrial Revolution. Each room has to have researched information and artifacts.
Students have completed this project on large paper and online using various programs. I have also combined technology and hard copies previously, having students create the ten-rooms on paper and then having them design one room online, or had them create a brochure to visit the museum online using Microsoft's Office Suite.
On once occasion, I was able to collaborate with our graphic arts teacher to have students design one room of the museum in his class online in a digital program for building and designing rooms.
The project took between one-two weeks with students spending 30-45 minutes of class time on the project. Prior to beginning the project, we analyzed primary sources from the Industrial Revolution and students took notes from a powerpoint.
