If your classroom is like mine, you believe learning is best by doing. Using plays, simulations and reenactments allows students to experience their learning targets/objectives. Plus, it is fun!
I use this play during an Industrial Revolution unit in my economics class. I use it to supplement what we are learning at that time. It takes about 10-15 minutes for the whole activity, including the discussion. It is a great way to learn about some of the revolutionary changes occurring at that time. After the play, I have students quickly write down everything they learned about Robert Owen and we discuss what we should remember.
I have also paired this play with another one about a different industrialist - Richard Arkwright. I have included the handout I use with those two plays in the bundle, which is found in my TPT store.
I hope this works well for you. If you have time, let me know what you think. Also, visit my store to see a whole bunch of other useful plays, simulations, lessons, and experiences that I have created.
