Product Description
Groups of 4-5 students compete against their classmates to run the most successful, 19th century textile factory that they can. They have to make choices about how they want to power their factory, whom they should hire, and whether or not to use interchangeable parts. This 2-3 class period activity works best after the students have a basic understanding of the Industrial Revolution, but will foster a better understanding of industrialization, women entering the workforce, child labor, and interchangeable parts. Not only does this work as a history activity, but it can serve as rudimentary math review.
