This is a 14 page resource that will build a deep understanding of writing, graphing, and solving inequalities. Students will build an understanding that an inequality represents a range of answers, and that a number-line can be used to show all of the solutions to an inequality. Students will explore solving one-step inequalities by first determining what numbers could be solutions for the variable, and what numbers could not be solutions for the variable. Students will discover themselves that the inequality sign must be reversed when you multiply or divide by a negative number.
This packet teaches through exploration and understanding, then gives students step-by step instructions.
