This product includes two pages of interactive notes on solving inequalities involving multiplication and division with a negative coefficient. The first page of notes has students explore what happens to integers when they are multiplied by a negative number. Students are asked to fill in the correct inequality symbol and to think about the new position on the number line. The second page of interactive notes has six problems for students to explore and understand how to solve and graph inequalities with negative coefficients.
In addition, there are two pages of practice problems involving negative coefficients. The problems increase in difficulty on each worksheet. Students are asked to solve, graph and describe the possible solutions. The first page is a combination of one and two step inequalities. The last two problems have negative fraction coefficients. The second worksheet has a total of eight questions. Students solve two challenging inequality problems and answer corresponding questions.
Two exit slips are included. One exit slip has questions involving one step inequalities with a negative coefficient. The other exit slip contains multi-step inequalities.
A ten question assessment is provided. A variety of questions assess student understanding of inequalities with negative coefficients.
Answer keys are provided for all of the notes, worksheets and assessments.
