I like to make games and worksheets about what the students are interested in- my 6th graders are crazy about paintball!
This game is similar to Battleship- the students play with a partner (each choosing a different game board). Each student takes a turn writing an inequality and then telling their partner their answer (the answers to one game board are on the bottom of their partner's game board). If the answer is on the paintball player- it’s a "hit" and if the answer is next to the players, it’s a "miss". If the answer is not there, they know right away that they have made a mistake. A player wins when they have “hit” all answers on their opponent’s paintball player.
The topic is writing inequalities (from verbal expressions and number lines). Example question: "You must be at least 18 years old to see an R rated movie"
