Here is an activity that changes up the way students review for a chapter test. This activity includes 20 questions and can either be used in one class period or broken up into two periods.
Place the cards (10 or 20) around the room so that students are able to see them. Do this before the school day begins. Break students up into groups of 3. Give each group an answer sheet.
Directions for students:
Have one member be the “runner”. They will be going around the room looking for the hidden questions. When one is found, they take it back to their group.
Have another member be the “reader”. They will read the problem aloud so that the whole group can hear.
Have a third member be the “writer”. They will write the problem that needs to be solved on scrap paper so that the group can solve the problem. They will also write “only the answer” on the answer sheet for the appropriate problem.
Once the problem is solved and has been recorded on the answer sheet, the runner will return it to the place in which they found it and look for another question. Repeat cycle until all questions (10 or 20) are found and answered. The questions are numbered along with the answer sheet. Each question needs to be answered on its appropriate line.
