Drawing inferences from a reading selection and then citing evidence from the text to support the inference is a huge focus in the Common Core reading. In fact, it is first standards in every grade level.
These graphic organizers follow close reading. The students have space to write their inferences, citations and notes from the text and then write a paragraph drawing conclusions after that information had been recorded.
