This is an activity to help students practice their inference skills. It includes a graphic organizer and 5 different mystery letters. Students receive one of the mystery letters, that is missing the signiture line, and use the graphic organizer to try to infer who sent the letter to them. The letters were all sent by famous people who are popular among students.
I gave every student a copy of the graphic organizer. Then I put a copy of one of the 5 different letters in an envelope for each student. They had to be inference detectives and figure out who sent them their letter.
