This is a super fun lesson that I have used for observations and demo lessons. You need Thomas Locker's "Water Dance" for this lesson. You will use his poems and have the student make inferences based on clues from the poems. On the easel chart you will display several of his poems(Be sure to omit the part where Locker states the subject) and have the children make inferences. This is a very engaging lesson and the children always love it. Also, it's great for turn and talks. I've included differentiated assignments that can be used for this lesson. I left an area for you to add the poems of your choice on the worksheets. I wrote this lesson with the second grade Common Core Standards, but this lesson is meant for grades 2-5. Have fun!
