One of the most important skills a reader can have is the ability to infer. This lesson is completely written out for you and can be used early on in a unit of study on inferencing. In this lesson students will figure out how to unpack a text/the words on a page in order to figure out what the characters in their book are really doing, saying and thinking. They do this by citing the text and then talking with the members of their book club about the evidence they found to back up their thinking.
