This packet includes 14 short reading comprehension passages. In each passage, students can use the evidence and their own background knowledge to make an inference about how the character might be feeling. I have also included a space for students to explain how they got their answer. I recommend starting with a whole group lesson on inferencing, then giving this resource to provide independent practice. For English Language Learners, I would also pre-teach feelings vocabulary prior to giving students this resource. These could also be used in a small group for students who need more support.
