Description

This printable set of inference worksheets and matching digital Boom cards contain short paragraphs with important details omitted to increase critical thinking skills. This resource taps into the student’s ability to recall immediate and past pertinent information, the ability to evaluate what is important to the situation, and to recognize the relevance/sensibility of his/her own answers. This resource is differentiated for the development of this skill. The student thinks through solutions by sorting and retaining possibilities that are most likely given the situation.

There are two levels to this resource.

  • Level 1 Gives a reading passage that is missing key material to help the student solve the questions. They are given multiple choice answers to determine which one makes the most sense. Then they have to apply this situation to their own lives to see how they would formulate a sentence describing what they would do in this situation.

  • Level 2 Has completely different stories but the multiple choice answers are not given making this much more difficult but achievable for your students, especially if they have completed all of Level 1 stories. They must write their answers in complete sentences and then apply it to their own lives in the last question.
