Inference Task Cards!
*Updated 9/16/15*- If you have already purchased this file, please download it again to receive the full packet. Thank you.
Making inferences can be a difficult skill for students to grasp. These 32 inference task cards are the perfect way to help students in grades 6-8 master this difficult concept.
This set features 32 task cards with challenging and engaging scenarios. The first 16 cards require students to make inferences about the character’s emotion. The remaining 16 cards ask students to make inferences regarding the character’s location. For each card, students must provide text evidence to support their inference.
Included in this set are two versions of the 32 inference task cards. In the first version, students must determine the emotion or location of the character on their own. In the second version, students are given three multiple choice options to help them determine the character emotion and location. This is a great way to differentiate based on the needs of your students.
These cards are very easy to use. There are four cards to a page. Simply cut them out, laminate them (if desired), and they are ready to go. Use these task cards in small groups, with partners, individually, or as a whole group for warm ups or as a closure activity. They also work great for remediation.
Answer key included.
See below for a list of emotions and locations students must infer.
