Here's a hands-on, creative way for your students to practice inferring as they read! Your students will read six passages and will infer as they read. The finished products make a unique bulletin board or fun school hallway display!
I actually created this “S’more Cocoa” craftivity as a follow-up lesson for my own students. Earlier in the school year, when I first introduced inferencing, my students completed the “Let’s Make S’more Inferences” craftivity
. Personally, I find it beneficial to revisit this important skill several times throughout the school year, and that’s why I created the winter version of the craftivity.
Students read six short stories on the three-page worksheet packet. After reading each story, your students will make inferences in order to answer the questions following the story.
When they finish the worksheet, they can begin the craftivity! Student-friendly directions are included so that you can place the directions under your document camera, and students can refer to them as they complete the project. (An answer key is also included.)
