Making Inferences - this set of 30 task cards provides students with practice using close reading skills to make inferences in a variety of situations. Students make inferences from paragraphs, quotes, clichés, signs, pictures, and more. They will make inferences about occupations, food, people and families, the weather, a recipe, and other topics. A number of the cards feature a cowboy theme.

These task cards are designed specifically for middle school and upper elementary kids. The cards are large – two cards per page and have more content per card than many of the smaller task cards – perfect for older kids who can handle more than one quick question per card.

Included with this set is a blank answer sheet for students to fill in their answers.

Task cards are perfect for differentiating with individual or group work, and for review activities, class games like Scoot or Footloose, and quick assessments. Included with this set is a list of suggestions for ways to use task cards and a list of suggestions for easy differentiation with task cards.

These cards support the ELA standards for Reading: Literature and Informational Text, especially those that relate to comprehension of story elements, making inferences, and using text-based information.

The Easel Activity is a digital version that is ready to use with one card per slide. It is ready for student use with answer boxes and directions already in place.
