This resource targets thirty (30) different social scenarios using a fun flip book format! Read on to see how it works!!!
Both a color and black and white copy of a 7 page flip book are includedin this resource. The flip book can be used as take home student activity (black and white) or made into a reusable resource (color). Each page of the flip book targets one aspect of social inferencing. Sentence starters and/or graphics are provided on each page.
Page 1: Name and photograph of the social scenario
Page 2: Observations - Write down at least 3 things you see in the photo.
Page 3: Location - Where do you think the picture was taken? What clues did you use?
Page 4: Relationship - How do you think the people know each other? What clues did you use?
Page 5: Feeling and Thinking - Choose one person from the picture. Write down how you think the person is feeling and what he/she might be thinking.
Page 6: Expected or Unexpected - Is the behavior expected or unexpected in this environment?
Page 7: What's Next - Use the clues you've noticed to make a guess about what might happen next.
Also included are thirty (30) color photographs, each depicting a different social scenario. Small photos are included to glue or Velcro onto the flip book. Full page photos are also included to allow students to see the photograph while writing and notice subtle details that might be overlooked with just the small photos.
