What educators are saying
Such a great interactive bulletin board idea! I have some students who look forward to this weekly. I have been able to use the picture cards and clues in multiple activities.
I love everything about this resource!! My students love being detectives and making guesses! Fun and engaging for everyone!
Description
Inferencing can be a difficult task for many students but working on it everyday sometimes just isn't possible. With this activity your students can work on those inferencing skills EVERYDAY!
This bulletin board activity allows you to target inferencing using different describing components. By displaying and adding clues daily, your students, and anyone who walks into your room, will be able to strength their skills.
How to Use:
Post all the headings on your bulletin board. Monday thru Thursday add a clue under the correct heading. On Friday, post the mystery item.
Includes:
- 58 items and clues ( 4 clues per item plus a blank clue for you to customized if desired )
- A monthly suggestion page with item suggestions for each month.
* You may want to keep a jar, bowl, or can by your bulletin board so students can write down what they think the mystery item is during the week. On Friday, choose a slip of paper with the correct answer and that student can earn a prize or a special note home.
***UPDATED 3/28/15*** I have added 6 new items to this activity: a tablet, chicken, chick, watch, butterfly, and caterpillar. The chicken/chick and caterpillar/butterfly would be great to use if your class or students are doing a unit on these creatures :)
