Students will practice drawing conclusions with pictures by observing details and using background knowledge! There are 40 inferencing activities for students to complete weekly throughout the year. Each activity is numbered. An enlarged copy of each picture precedes each activity. In addition, a rubric is included!
1. Give your students one inferencing activity per week to reinforce this skill all year long!
2. When you give your students a copy of the weekly inferencing activity, drag the activity from your computer onto the board (SmartBoard, etc) so that students can see the picture(s) larger, more clearly, and in color.
3. When students have had time to complete the activity, ask volunteers to come up to the board and fill in details, background knowledge, and inferences. Alternatively, have a class discussion and fill in student responses yourself. This activity could be used as a Warm-up or Bell Ringer!
