Learning how to make inferences is an important and tricky skill for many students. Task cards using riddles are a great way for students to practice making inferences in a fun way. This is a bundle of three sets of inferencing task cards:
What is It?
, Where am I?
, and Who am I?
These task cards are a great way for students to practice their inferencing skills while thinking they are just solving riddles. Students read the paragraph to determine the answer to what is being described. Additionally, there are answer cards with the jobs included. These cards can be used to differentiate the activity where students are either given the answer cards or not depending on their needs. The answer cards can also be used as a partner game where students must tell their partner clues about the place on their card.
A writing activity using the answer cards is also included. The cards can also be used as a game in a literacy center. Game boards are included in case you would like to use the task cards as a small group or partner game.
