Inferencing is the first unit in every English class I teach, and this works simple sheet really well with various activities.
The students are provided with printed photographs (there's two options in my shop for a PPT with these images, or print your own) that they fill out this sheet based off.
You can also project the images and have students pick their favourite one to work on.
It takes them through the process of inferencing and making connections to prior knowledge...which we do constantly in English class.
I hope it helps !
It's easily adaptable to any real, strange photographs you can find.
Or see in my shop - the "What's Going On In This Photo?" - matching Powerpoints that pair really well with this worksheet.
