I use this with my 6th grade remedial reading introduce to introduce the idea of making inferences. Students are asked to look at the picture, use a combination of their noticings and their background knowledge to determine the situation presented in the photo, and then indicate the "text clues" (in this case, picture clues) that led them to the inference.
Since it is a word document, it can be doctored to look any way you'd like :)
I also have an "Inferring with Words" document, as well, that goes along with the pictures, if you are interested.
