Students who are entering the Syllable Juncture/Syllables and Affixes Stage are beginning to study what happens to the endings of single syllable words when an inflected ending is added. These engaging games focus on adding –ing or –ed to regular, single-syllable words.
These games can be done as part of a Word Study group to reinforce a new concept, for partner practice during Literacy Stations or as a review activity for students who are receiving instruction beyond this stage, but are continuing to make these errors in their writing.
This bundle includes the following two follow-the-path style file-folder games and card game:
-Racing Through Alaska Word Study File Folder Game (Adding -ed and -ing)
-Move It Or Lose It Word Study File Folder Game (Adding -ing)
-First One Out Card Game (Sounds of -ed)
