Description

Have you ever tried to complete a speech assessment and have the child refuse to talk? Screening for articulation sounds doesn't have to be tedious with these bright and bold pictures scenes loaded with articulation targets. Ideally set up on your computer or iPad as NO PRINT (but easy to print and laminate), you will be able to informally assess your student's speech productions.

Simply ask a leading question such as "Can you tell me what you see in this picture?" and check off your student's productions. It's natural. It's spontaneous and can double as language sample while you chat and listen.

⭐I have a FREE Informal Polysyllabic Word Screener Scenes in the same format so please download to get a sense for what this resource will be like.

There are TWO DIFFERENT SCREENERS included in this resource for more flexibility:

  1. QUICK SCREENER: Contains initial sounds only over 6 pages including a sample of blends. This is great to use as a 3-5 minute screen. The scenes are loosely organized based on speech development, so 'earlier' sounds for example, are grouped together.
  2. IN-DEPTH SCREENER: Contains words in initial-medial-final positions AND all 'l', 'r' and 's' blends over 14 pages. This would take a little longer to elicit and provide more information.

The Informal Articulation Screener Scenes is just a screener, so please use your clinical judgement if you feel that a standardized or formal assessment is warranted.

What SLPs like you are saying:

"Absolutely love this!! I've been frustrated by other screeners with lots of materials to prep or drag around, this is fast and easy".

"A great conversation and intelligibility resource as well as a speech sound screener".

"This was also fantastic for a little receptive language screener and able to prompt for "wh" questions (you don't typically get this with a traditional screener)".

Love the idea of using something different as a way to screen and assess as part of your speech evaluation? Me too! I want to get kids talking so that I can start analyzing.
