Conferring with students about their reading is really important and helps in building a culture of reading in the classroom. It keeps kids accountable for their reading and helps them in making the best reading choices. Before conferring with your student, think about the books you can recommend. Sites like Goodreads.com or Amazon are a great place to find similar books, and try to work in time for your students to talk with each other about books too. Allowing kids to give book commercials when books are completed inspires them to read more. I hope you find this as helpful as it's been to me. Please enjoy using this and skip the feedback. The idea and questions came from my reading conference, so I share this form just to encourage the conferencing process.
