Included in this resource are printables to help your students to write an informational text using research. You will need to select a mentor text for modeling the research and note-taking procedures. You will show your students how to take notes using observation, sketches and boxes and bullets.
*Please open the preview to see a better picture of what is included.
You may wish to bind these materials together into a booklet for your students to use as they proceed with this writing project. It makes things much easier when your students don’t have to shuffle to find things and will keep them from losing their notes and planning pages along the way.
I have also included example pages for some of the worksheets to give students (and you) a model to follow. I have also included a complete sample text. This sample text works perfectly with a class research project on making a class travel guide (for your state or city), but you could use it as a model for any research project.
This kit does not provide mini-lessons, but the reference sheets and printables included should make it self-explanatory. However, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me and I’ll be happy to do my best to help you: firstname.lastname@example.org
