I put this together after attending a writing professional development. This is great to use for information and/or expository writing. TREE is an acronym for T: Topic, R: Reason, E: Explain, and E: End it. I have used this in my class and it keeps the students' writing organized.
The first page is a TREE notes page. This is great as a note taking guide. The second page is the TREE organizer that I have used. Students write their reason and then they have to get text evidence to support their reason. Each reason needs a transition. This is great for the younger students since it is already done for them.
