This is a packet that we generated to be used as an informational guide for our High School students who are preparing for life after High School. We found that many of our students did not know where to start or who to go to for further assistance. We initially only distributed this packet to our Senior students but then realized it was useful for Sophomore and Junior students as well.
This packet includes useful links to help the students find information for College and Career Readiness (government issued non-drivers ID, college essay prompts, scholarship search, SAT, Career Exploration, etc.). We also provide information on; "How to Submit College Applications and write a college essay. This packet also includes information in terms of generating a resume and/or applying for a job. This is why we are expanding the population to distribute this packet to, since we found that many of our Sophomore and Junior students were starting to apply for part-time jobs.
We typically distribute this packet out at the beginning of the school year and then again in March for students who are not planning to attend college and/or want information regarding career readiness.
We recommend that you share this packet with the parents and other school personnel who work with students engaged in this process of life post-High School.
**Please note that some of the documents provided in this packet are geared for students who live in New York State.
