Independent reading and reflection is critical to a student's comprehension of the text. The reading response is to be used by students as he/she reads an informational nonfiction text. Students will analyze while completing before reading activities. Students will predict and critically think about the text while completing a graphic organizer. Students will choose complex vocabulary as they read, summarize, teach another student, question the author, and create as they read the text. This activity will help students master common core standards and become more engaged in the text.
