Informational texts and math tasks about Emus!!
Go on - take a look at this package and introduce your students to one of Australia's most unique animals!
You already know about the koala and the kangaroo but did you know the emu is on Australia's Coat of Arms, it can not walk backwards and it cannot even fly?
And Australians do call this a bird!!!!
Our package includes 2 informational texts written specifically for younger students. Each text is accompanied by a comprehension activity. These activities are suitable to use with both texts, based on student ability.
Writing tasks include include an information report and a narrative writing activity.
Emu Bingo is a game cleverly designed to use vocabulary and technical language from the informational texts. This is a fun activity that our students love to play whilst developing rich vocabulary.

-A fact file in which students create a file of learned facts which they then further develop with their families as a take home task
-PMI chart which provides you as the teacher with feedback about which activity students enjoyed and found engaging.
