The purpose of these exercises is for students to gain a deeper understanding of writing prompts through deconstruction. Once they analyze the prompt, the students then piece together an already written essay based on their knowledge of the parts of the prompt task-demand.
Students also get the opportunity to analyze the specific parts of the informational essay once it is properly pieced together through the use of color coding.
