Informative speaking is the best place to start when teaching a public speaking class. A majority of high school students have a firm grasp on the basics of writing and can carry a listener through a 2-4 minute speech without difficulty, therefore, an informative speech outline enables you, teacher, to focus on presentation skills.
Combining the informative speech outline with a tribute speech assignment, allows students freedom to choose topics that they are comfortable with and thus encourage them to throw their inhibitions to the wind in their presentation. The
