Product Description
In Inherit the Wind, several of the characters are based in part upon real people from the Scopes "Monkey" Trial that took place in Dayton, TN in 1925. This chart is meant to help students not only use direct and indirect characterization to create profiles of the characters as presented in the play, but lead into a discussion about how these characters are similar to and different from their real counterparts. I also use it as a way to talk about how an artist/writer can approach a subject and interject his/her own vantage point or claims in the way that subject matter is presented (which ties into rhetoric and the Common Core). I hope you enjoy it.
