Our littles need need opportunities to compare and sort sounds. I have found this to be the most solidifying experience for students to really master their sounds. This resource was designed to engage little learners who tend to rush through, to help them slow down a bit, listen for sounds and work intentionally on practicing and mastering fluency with phonemes.
Robert Marzano’s 2007 research confirmed that asking students to identify similarities and differences through comparative analysis leads to eye-opening gains in student achievement.
Included in this resource:
Single letter Initial Sound Compare & Sort (each letter of the alphabet)
I hope this resource is fun, engaging and provides “high yield” effective strategies for your kids to
master their initial sounds!
