Teachers can print these cards on cardstock, cut, and laminate. Initial and Final Sound cards can be used by students at an independent center or in a small group as an intervention. Before hand teachers can prepare clothes pins by writing differet consonants on the clothes pins. Then students look at the picture and place the pin with on the card. Students can practice identifying the initial and final sounds in words. Works wonderful at a literacy center. This center helps to develop their phonemic awareness skills as well as letter/sound correspondence.
