Don't have enough space to keep those boxes of letter sound items for your students to sort into the correct boxes? Use this Common Core State Standards aligned Smart Board lesson to integrate technology while focusing on isolating beginning letter sounds. The students "pack" the items that correspond with the letter on the lunch bag. The correct items go "in" the bag. The incorrect items get rejected, for a quick self check. There is one page for each letter of the alphabet, short and long vowel sounds included! This lesson is focused on the Kindergarten CCSS, but can also be used for differentiation/interventions for 1st grade. Great for whole group instruction or stations!
**Note: The "Xx" page has items that end in the "x" sound
RF.K.1d - identify upper- and lowercase letters
RF.K.2d - isolate initial and ending sounds in words
