Understanding the Design Process
Problem solving is used to develop ideas into designs and models that satisfy a solution. Utilize the 7 steps to problem solving when designing/redesigning an invention.
This unit will require students to utilize the seven-step design process to identify the need for a redesign of an existing product by researching and analyzing its historical evolution.
Feedback and Collaboration
Ongoing task to ensure students take time to do peer evaluations. Students should discuss tasks within groups and present to peers not in group to allow for outside feedback.
Example: During the design process, discuss thoughts with a peer outside of the group to see what aspects they like or dislike or that are missing and can be added.
Choice of design business cards, brochure, flyer or other marketing methods. Students will create marketing material for their inventions based off of who their intended audience is.

This unit will provide an introduction to web page design using current district approved software. Students will learn to use an HTML editor and understand the importance of revising and editing documents before publication.
Students will present their innovations to their peers.
