On the following pages, there are sets of numbers for input/output tables. Each set has a different rule (addition, subtraction, multiplication). Cut out the sets of numbers, laminate, and put them in paper bags. Pairs of students will use the numbers to determine the rule and to complete an input/output table. After students have correctly placed all numbers and figured out the rule, they will create a table on posterboard using the numbers given. Finally, students will extend their tables and write in two more rows. **There are enough sets for 10 pairs of students. Laminate so sets can be reused and given to different groups. This can be done as a class assignment. Students can also rotate through the different sets during math centers. This can also be used as a matching game, where students get the different sets and have to match the input side to the correct output side, and then find the corresponding rule. This document has many possibilities!
