Input Output: Here's a fun hands-on way to practice input and output tables. Students can work with 18 sets of problems using the work mats and a recording sheet.
Laminate the work mats and the cards.. Each set of cards has its own symbol, so you’ll want to keep them separated.
This activity includes 18 different problems.
6 addition rules
8 subtraction rules
2 telling time (adding and subtracting) rules
2 adding money rules
Each problem contains several ? cards. These cards can be used for students to solve the ? spaces when working with a teacher or a partner.
Below grade level students may benefit if the teacher places the cards while leaving several blank. Students at and above grade level should be able to work on a blank mat and correctly place all cards.
An answer key is not provided. I like to print a copy of the cards and keep the pages to use as an answer key. Students could use a calculator to check their work.
The cards used for the rule box are smaller than The regular cards.
