Input and Output Rule Tables (all operations +, -, x, /) Lesson & Activity Sheets
This is a silly way to teach input/output tables. However, my students find it absolutely hilarious which keeps them fully engaged.
Guzoonta Bird loves to eat numbers! When Guzoonta Bird eats numbers, something happens inside his stomach to the number that’s being digested. When Guzoonta bird poops out the number, it doesn’t look the same anymore! What happened to the number inside Guzoonta Bird’s stomach?
This is a thorough lesson plan and practice sheets for introducing input/output tables. The input/output tables include problems using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division operations. I use this lesson with my third grade students. It helps them develop a visual image for rule tables.
