Product Description
This is an inquiry or discovery activity that allows students to uncover the idea that when you add the sum of the squares of the two shorter sides of any triangle (a^2 + b^2), the answer will be less than the square of the longest side (c^2) for obtuse triangles, equal to it for right triangles, and greater than it for acute triangles.

Students must know how to use the Pythagorean Theorem to find the length of a missing side of a triangle on a graph in order to complete this assignment (see the thumbnail for an example).
