This is a packet of materials that includes detailed lesson plans, an informational handout, a rubric, and an idea. The idea is an inquiry-based kick-off to a persuasive unit that revolves around very deep, thought-provoking questions. This can, however, be used at any time, and it is not just relevant for the introduction of a persuasive unit.
The premise of these (3) lessons is based on inquiry into the subject/idea of persuasion. Each group within a class receives a question (or problem) they must solve. Working together, they will collaborate and tackle many objectives, leading to a final product, and presenting their results to the class.
I challenge anyone to give this packet of lessons a try. I have been very successful with it in the past.
