Are you studying insects? This is a game with 13 picture cards of unique insects and 13 riddle cards. The pictures and cards can be printed on tag board and laminated. Also included is a worksheet with the same riddles that students can fill out with the answers.
This game can be played several ways. First, you could simply lay out the picture and riddle cards and allow students to match the correct riddle with the insect described. Second, you could make it a memory game, turning over matching pairs. I like to scatter the picture cards around the room and hand each student the worksheet with the riddles. I make it a race and instruct students to quickly go around the room and find each picture card, they then have to read each riddle and write down the name of the insect on the paper. The first student to successfully write the name of all 13 insects is the “winner”.
