This resource will help your first grade students write informative/explanatory texts about insects. It includes a prewriting graphic organizer, sentence stems for writing a draft and fun writing paper for publishing. I have included links to some of my favorite websites that are appropriate for first graders to research and learn about insects. This simple writing project can easily be integrated into any insect unit.
