Insects - Nonfiction Reading Passages
Use this resource to teach your students about
insects and practice nonfiction reading skills. The
passages are short, simple, and contain a picture
of the insect.
What is included:
- Nonfiction Reading Passages:
There are 11 reading passages. One for each of the
following insects: ant, grasshopper, bee, praying mantis,
butterfly, stick bug, ladybug, mosquito, dragonfly,
cricket, and beetle.
Each reading passage is followed by three questions.
-Interactive Notebook Page:
There is a flip flap book/interactive notebook page
to go along with each passage. The students write
what they know about each insect and what they
want to know about each insect.
*Note: the interactive notebook pages can be used
before or after reading the passage.
There is a page for students to write about and draw
a picture about each insect.
