This was a way to assess my 3rd grade students after a unit on school supplies as well as bring in vocabulary we'd already studied. Page 1 is a picture of the inside of a messy desk. On the document camera I put Spanish instructions for how I wanted my students to complete the assignment. My instructions are included in page 2 of this document, but you could certainly adapt it to your own needs.
The assessment was based on the student's ability to read the Spanish sentence and color or draw the appropriate items in the desk. For example, "Color 1 pencil green" requires them to know not only the new vocabulary word "pencil" but also the older word "green".
