Everybody loves the new Disney/Pixar movie Inside Out!!! This activity uses the characters in the movie to help children identify and express their own emotions. Using the color scheme and characters in Inside Out the children create a Memory Tree based on their past memories. This activity not only helps them to identify their feelings but it is a great way for you to learn about their past. I originally created this for use in grief counseling and have had great success using it. However, it has a variety of uses. I have found that it can be especially useful for emotional intelligence/identifying and expressing feelings. It also works wonders with resistant or difficult to reach children. They love this one!
