Inside Out Feelings Social Story is a great resource to use with special education students or other students who have difficulty regulating their emotions. The social story describes four feelings: happy, sad, angry, scared. It gives the child an exercise to do to calm down when they are feeling a certain feeling. This product also has a sheet for each feeling where a child can write and illustrate things that make them feel happy, sad, or angry.
This Inside Out Break Cards and Break Area Kit goes perfectly with my Inside Out Interactive Feelings Story!

-Calming strategies to accompany break area
- Simply print and laminate the break cards. You may also want to put them on a ring for easy use for any student who is struggling with identifying their feelings and asking for a break.
-Print and laminate break area sign. Hang in designated break area. It might be a good idea to go over break area rules with all students before starting.
-Print and laminate emotions checklist and tape to your students' desks who might benefit from going through these steps prior to asking for a break. Again, it might be beneficial to model using the checklist with whole class.
-Print and laminate calming strategies. Can either hang in break area or place on a ring for students to select from.
