This unit includes everything you’ll need to teach about the brain and emotions. Students will explore neurology including a brief history of brain research, basic brain anatomy, left brain/right brain myths, brain cells, the network of neurons, learning and memory, and how our brain connects to our body. You’ll dive into Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out and the wonderful world of emotions. Students will complete an emotions’ survival guide that allows them to not only name their own emotions, but create emoticons to represent them. Life can often be a rollercoaster of ups and downs, but understanding our emotions and how our brain works can help us keep things running a little more smoothly.
