Students will research a famous Canadian and write a Biography using proper structure. Each part of the biography is outlined in the assignment with specific details.
Students also have to justify using APE (Answer, Proof, Explain) why their Canadian is inspirational and should be included in the class Top 10 List of Inspirational Canadians. (I generated criteria for what makes a person inspirational with my class prior to the assignment)
This assignment includes a detailed assignment page, checklist of biography features, biography outline for students and writing rubric.

Students present their biography in whatever way they wanted. The class then had to RANK who they thought the top 10 inspirational Canadians the class researched were. I included my ranking organizer in this assignment page. (I found this was a great way to engage students in the presentations and they learned to justify their choices using evidence)
